SOUPer Giveaway

People often ask me what my favorite dishes to cook are and as long as I've been cooking, that's still a really tough question to answer because I enjoy cooking and baking all types of food.  I usually end up responding "soups and salads" because they are my among my favorites.

I love soups so much I could cook and eat soup every day.  Doesn't matter what's going on with the weather or what's in the fridge...I can always find a reason or ingredients to cook up a super-satisfying, yummy pot of soup. 1. Soup is a wonderful way to feed the body and warm the spirit. Hmmm, my favorite soup....probably a homemade Italian Wedding Soup or a winter minestrone.

  2. Without a doubt my favorite soup is a New England Clam Chowder. I love it because it has that fresh from the sea taste from the clams, and an earthy taste from the robust potatoes and other veggies. Combine that with a thick base and you got the perfect soup.

I am following this blog on Networkedblogs via Facebook.

  7. Hello
My husband and I love soup! I'm allways coming up with something differnt. I look in my frige and see what I can make into soup. I love vegetable soups alot. They can be made in so many ways! I have a recipe that I made called French Egg Drop soup, I was looking for something really differnt to make one day and came across this version. http://cakebaker35.wordpress.com/category/soups/
I had some egg drop soup at a Chinese place awhile ago and had to make some version of this soup! The French Egg Drop soup was waonderful, it was alss the first time I made any kind of egg drop soup. I guess I was afraid to try it, I don't know why, sounds silly doesn't it??? I love your site. I'm still new at blogging, and I love it! I did join your FB fan page. Your soup book looks wonderful!!! I'll be back!!! Amanda :)

  8. My favorite soup is Panamanian style lentil & beef. Panama is smack in the tropics, but we have soup for lunch almost daily. What I like about Sopa de Lentejas is that it has a slightly thick broth without being thick. And it is packed full with root veggies like yucca, otoe and name.

Check out the recipe here: http://wp.me/pFzw3-cz -- It's delicious!

  13. Hello everyone,

THANKS for your wonderful comments and for entering the giveaway! How is it possible that many of you have listed some of my favorite soups? I guess we can chalk it up to great minds thinking and great palettes tasting alike :>).

Wow, Italian wedding, NE clam chowder, chicken noodle, black bean, cream of broccoli, creamy tomato, are all among my favorites. If I had to choose a favorite like I've asked you guys to do, I'd have to say it would be my cream fish and corn chowder. I'll post the recipe for it at a later date.

@Shahana - I've never heard of creamy onion soup but I love onion soup so I may give your recipe a try. Thanks for sharing the link to the recipe!

@Frederick, Frederick, Frederick...lol...I'm shaking my head vigorously trying to get rid of the image of the FLIES swarming around you in a tub full of cream of broccoli soup. Now, every time I have a bowl, I'm going to remember your comment. :>)

  39. My favorite soup is Chicken Tortilla Soup. I don't have the exact recipe off hand but the ingredients are: shredded chicken, chicken stock, corn, cheese, sour cream, fresh tomatoes, basil, lime, cumin, chili powder, red flakes, spinach and celery. It's very flavorful, healthy, and best of all, easy to throw together in the crockpot.

I'll take what I can get which means I'm perfectly fine sipping on some Campbell's. But, when my mother makes HOMEMADE chicken noodle soup, it's a real treat. 53. I love a good Tuscan Tomato Soup with chunky tomatoes and basil. I think I love it so much because it reminds me of sneaking tastes of my mother’s spaghetti sauce from the oversized pot on the stove growing up.
