  1. Wow! I know this will come across sounding trite, but I'm not the kind of person who usually wins contests.

I live with my mother, actually! She's a registered nurse and I teach English composition 1 and 2 at community college. Since I'm only an adjunct, the pay is not enough to actually make a living off of, so thank you again for the giveaway - my usual "gifts" to my mom are pretty low-cost, like writing "I love you, mommy!" on the refrigerator white-board for her to find when she gets home. I would never have been able to splurge on something like a soup tureen for her on my own. Teaching community college has put me in contact with quite a few people whose family situations are far from ideal - so I know just how lucky I am to have a mom who loves me and supports me.

It takes a special kind of person to share all their knowledge on a blog (and host giveaways!) unconditionally for readers to see and benefit from. Thank you so much for being that kind of a person, Lynn!

  2. Congratulations, Carmen! You are a very special person and I'm sure your mother is extremely proud of you and your accomplishments. I'm sure she appreciates ALL of your gifts--big and small!

I've seen your "Writing Simplified" blog (http://www.writingsimplified.com). Your dedication and contributions to others are apparent. When we give so much of ourselves to help others, the universe has a way of rewarding us so I guess you can consider your winning this giveaway a tiny bit of good karma.

I'm thrilled you've won and I hope you and your mother enjoy the goodies. I'd be interested to know which of the 500 soup recipes she makes first. :>). Congrats again and take care!
