It's Wednesday...Eat Orange Foods!

Wednesday is ruled by Mercury and Virgo and is associated with the color Orange. The color orange is linked to our emotions and is widely known for it's ability to inspire happiness and joy!

Orange influences healing in a variety of physical and emotional areas of our bodies (stimulates the appetite, improves digestion, is associated with the assimilation of food; helps the stomach, lower back, pelvic and kidney health; sexuality, personal power and more).

Orange foods are, in my opinion, some of the yummiest foods available--not to mention the fact that they contain high amounts of vital antioxidants--carotenoids, beta-carotene, Vitamin C--which help destroy toxic cells and repairs some cellular damage.

So, in honor of Wednesday, and because you may now have a little more information about why you should eat plenty of orange foods, I thought it would be fun to list some of my favorite orange foods, drinks, spices, etc. and link the foods to any recipes I've posted on the blog if applicable.

My Favorite Orange Foods
Join in on the fun! Tell me about your favorite orange foods, any orange foods you've eaten lately or link to orange foods on your website/blogs.

  1. How fun! I just found your blog. I love it. Hey, does turmeric count as an orange food? I put it on everything, eggs, toast, veggies, even popcorn. It makes the color pop and it's good for me. I am excited to experiment with some of your recipes! Thanks

  2. Hi Laina, THANKS! Yes, turmeric absolutely counts as an orange food. Turmeric is an orange-colored root and is a member of the ginger family. I also love turmeric and like you, use it in a variety of ways. If you get a chance to try any of my recipes, please stop by to let me know how you like them. Thanks. :>)

  3. Do other days of the week also have a co-ordinating color? Just curious?

  4. @Debbie, THANKS! :>)

@Medifast, yes, each day of the week is associated with a particular color. For a full list, visit my other website, Amethyst Rising, here:

  5. Guess what I had Wednesday and did not not know about Orange Day. Apricots and peaches. I also love cantaloupe, oranges and my very favorite tangerines. Just hope I don,t become to extreme every Wednesday with this information and walk around with my all orange outfit and head dyed orange because I,m bald, with a big bag of orange food to inspire happiness and joy to everyone I see. Can you See me now? Enjoy this comment while you eat Orange. As always Thanks Lynn. Great stuff.

  6. @Frederick, wow, you have always been very intuitive! Good job. :>) LOL @ orange outfit...yeah, I can see it and ...please DON'T.

Thanks for stopping by and for the support. Hugs!
